PRISMA is an interest group in the packaging sector. They advocate for a unified industry solution with a collection infrastructure for packaging. All products and materials should be kept in a circular system and avoiding harmful waste.
BACHMANN GROUP uses 100% green electricity generated from renewable energy sources. This is environmentally friendly and produces minimal greenhouse gas emissions.
The goal of Net Zero 2050 is to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere to match the amount removed. This would stabilize the greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere. Measures like increasing energy efficiency or using renewable energy sources are required to achieve this goal.
Sustainability is divided into three areas:
Environment: Optimized use of raw materials, energy and reduction of waste and emissions.
Social: Fairness for all our employees and consideration of societal expectations.
Economic: Healthy growth of the company and constant investment in modern and more efficient technologies.
Plastic waste decomposes over a long period due to UV radiation, bacteria, salt, temperature fluctuations, or friction, which can take up to thousands of years. This process eventually forms so-called microplastic particles.
Currently, PET beverage bottles are the only packaging that can be fully recycled in the bottle-to-bottle process. This closed-loop system allows old PET bottles to be turned into new PET beverage bottles or other packaging.
2015, global climate goals were established at the Paris Climate Summit. The aim is to limit global warming to below 2°C, ideally to +1.5°C compared to pre-industrial levels. Switzerland aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.
Ecovadis offers a platform for companies to receive evaluations regarding environmental, social, and economic criteria. All responses must be supported by valid documents. We currently have a bronze medal.
Ecodesign refers to the design of products and services considering environmental impacts. The goal is to find environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions throughout the entire lifecycle (from production to disposal of the end product), ensuring resource conservation and waste reduction.
CO2 is a chemical compound of carbon and oxygen. It is a natural component of the Earth’s atmosphere, along with nitrogen, oxygen, and noble gases, and one of the most significant greenhouse gases. CO2 is mainly produced by the combustion of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas, as well as by natural processes such as respiration. It’s ability to retain heat in the atmosphere affects the global climate.
