Tray Back aims to take back trays from our customers. This allows us to create a closed loop and increase resource efficiency by reusing or recycling the returned parts.

The Sustainability Check compares three product variants using various criteria. The division is into three main areas:

Ecology: e.g. CO2, UBP
Circularity: e.g. Design for Recycling, recycling content
Product protection: e.g. migration

Since 1991, PET Recycling Switzerland (PRS) has organized the recycling of PET beverage bottles. With state-of-the-art technology and the world’s densest network of collection points, the company operates a proven B2B system without a deposit, achieving a return rate of over 90%.

Environmental impact points indicate how harmful a product or activity is to our environment. This can represent the lifecycle assessment of a product, including climate impact, emissions into air, water and soil, land use, resource consumption, and waste production.

Swiss Recycling is the umbrella organization of Swiss recycling associations and serves as a competence centre for quality, transparency, and sustainability.

Single Use Plastic refers to plastic packaging that is disposed of after only one use.

The Swiss Triple Impact program (STI) is designed to support Swiss organizations in developing a clear sustainability strategy.

In the framework of the 2030 Agenda, 17 global goals, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were established. All UN member states should achieve and implement these goals. BACHMANN GROUP focuses on these five SDGs:

7 Affordable and Clean Energy
8 Decent Work and Economic Growth
9 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
12 Responsible Consumption and Production
13 Climate Action

To record and reduce company emissions, a lifecycle assessment is conducted. This is divided into three categories:

Scope 1 includes all direct emissions of a company, such as emissions from operational facilities and company vehicles.
Scope 2 refers to indirect emissions from the purchase of energy sources, such as electricity and gas.
Scope 3 includes all other indirect emissions not covered by Scope 1 and 2. for BACHMANN GROUP, this includes emissions from the supply chain, raw materials, product use and disposal, and business travel.

The Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) promotes best practices for emissions reduction and setting net zero goals. Companies can set reduction targets aligned with the latest climate science, publicly announce these targets online, and benefit from technical support and expert resources.
