With the foundation of Recypac on November 30, 2023, an important milestone for the circular economy in Switzerland was achieved. The BACHMANN GROUP is one of the founding members.<\/p>\n

This new non-profit association aims to implement a uniform collection and recycling system for plastic packaging and beverage cartons, excluding PET bottles. As a participating packaging producer, Recypac perfectly aligns with our core focus \u00abcircular packaging\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Recycling:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Saves energy<\/li>\n
  • Reduces greenhouse gas emissions<\/li>\n
  • Creates secondary raw materials<\/li>\n
  • Promotes the Swiss circular economy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Goals by 2030 <\/strong>(aligned with the EU): Recycling rates of 55% for plastics \/ 70% for beverage cartons<\/p>\n

    Like the EU, the new organization sets ambitious sustainability targets (environmental, economic, and social) to be achieved by 2030 and continuously monitors them using a comprehensive and transparent goal system. By 2030, an efficient recycling system is to be established. The system is open to innovations and developments both domestically and internationally and aims for continuous optimization.<\/p>\n

    This is a voluntary Swiss industry solution. All participants of the process chain, from packaging manufacturers to brand manufacturers, retailers, communities, and recyclers, are involved in the process, enabling effective and efficient recycling. This means that the establishment of collection and recycling channels goes hand in hand with increasing the recyclability of products so that cycles are completely closed<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Collection with the \u00abRecyBag\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Since January 2025, the first municipalities have introduced the new collection system, marking another milestone toward a nationally coordinated collection system. The collection of plastic packaging and beverage cartons is carried out using the so called \u00abRecyBag\u00bb. These RecyBags can be purchased and returned at municipalities and certain retail stores. An overview of current sales and return locations can be found at Map | RecyBag<\/strong>. More municipalities will follow soon.<\/p>\n
